Justificatio Sola Fide (Justification by Faith Alone, or sola fide) is a doctrine that was introduced to Christianity by Martin Luther during the Protestant Reformation in the 1500s. This doctrine was one of the pillars upon which the Protestant tradition was founded; today, Protestants are taught that affirming sola fide “is important because it is one of the distinguishing characteristics […] that separates the true biblical Gospel from false gospels[; …] it is therefore a matter of eternal life or death” (source).
