On this, the eve of my Confirmation, I offer a brief prayer:
Father, You patiently waited for me, your prodigal son, to return to you.
Holy Spirit, You have been active in my soul since my infancy. Your still small voice that has led me through the darkest nights.
Lord Jesus Christ, You are truly the good shepherd. When I have strayed, You have found me. When I have wandered, You have come for me. When I have run, You have saved me from destruction and gently brought me back through Your love. I love you, my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
God, let me forgive others as You have forgiven me. Let me love others as You have loved me. Grant that I might become more like You. Bring my heart close to Yours. As I am sealed with the Holy Spirit, give me the words that bring life that I might share Your Gospel in humility and boldness.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit – as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
